Alex Reads Twilight

I haven't been posting very regularly due to going on holiday etc. so you should watch this if you have "holiday boredom".
Watch all the episodes, they are so funny!

Back Now

So I got back from Barcelona the other day and have been buying paint, looking at carpets etc. for redecorating my room since. I am really tired because I haven't been getting much sleep, which isn't great, and also because today I've been removing shelves from my room, moving furniture into the hallway and have, so far, painted two walls. We thought we would be able to remove all the posters and shelves from the walls and get it all painted today but it's starting to look like it will take a another day which means I will have to sleep in the lounge. :)
Thinking of doing some video blogs soon, anyone got any thoughts on that?

Packing Once Again...

At least I'm not going away for as long this time, only a few days and I'm going to a festival and seeing a friend who I haven't seen in a while. Though it's raining really heavily, the festival ground is probably a massive mud bath by now and seeing a friend you haven't seen in ages and won't see again for ages means saying good bye to them at the end. I know I should probably focus on seeing my friend and being grateful that I get to spend time with him but at the same a small part of me is wondering whether it would be easier to just stop replying to his texts and not meeting up with him. Is that the cowardly thing to do? Or am I just protecting myself from the inevitable hurt of saying good bye? This all sounds very dramatic but I am genuinely concerned as to whether seeing someone is worth saying good bye and not seeing them for another year. A lot can happen in a year of not seeing someone.

Inspired by Taylor Swift

Silence Speaks Louder Than Words

You know when something hurts you a lot and you feel like those that hurt you just don't understand what they have done? You decide that's the last straw, they are never going to hurt you again. But when they text you a few days later telling you everything was a mistake, you're an amazing person and they want to rekindle your friendship, you just give in because you want to go back to how everything was. In reality, when you message that person back saying you forgive them, it doesn't magically turn everything back to normal, it sets you up to fall again. This has happened to me so many times, each time I forgive someone I've been hurt more and more by them because they learn exactly how to get at me. I refuse to let this happen anymore. I know I have said that a lot, probably every time I've been hurt but this time I honestly mean it. This same person has messaged me twice now, it probably would have been more if I hadn't blocked her on Facebook, and I have restrained myself from replying. I've learnt that the trick is to tell yourself to think of the best comeback and then you can reply, but by the time you've thought of one the moment has passed, or you just don't see any point to it. This way I've put my phone down, left it in my room, put it on silent etc. and gone and had fun whilst the other person sits waiting for my reply. In this situation silence speaks louder than words, I could never begin to explain the hurt I felt over the things certain people put me through, so my silence says it for me.
I'm not saying don't trust people again, just don't let them come too close too quickly because it will probably all end in tears, and it won't be their tears.
   Stay strong x

Sleepover!

Yesterday my best friend, Georgia, came round for a sleepover! When she arrived we chatted for a bit, messing around on Facebook and taking goofy pictures and then we read for a while. It isn't the normal thing to do at a sleepover but Georgia and I have quite a quirky friendship. After dinner we went and bought popcorn and settled down to watch a film. The film was called Cyberbully, and it was fantastic. The acting was amazing, the plot was really interesting with lots of twists and it had meaning to it, rather than just being a meaningless romance film for example.
Once in our pjs and snuggled in bed we chatted until one in the morning! Not that it was proper chatting, just immature and funny giggles of sentences strung together. It was great, it is so easy to relax when it's just you and your friend messing around.
In the morning we got dressed and ready before going shopping where we tried on a few clothes but and wondered around but didn't do much. It was just so much fun spending time with my best friend, who is almost like a sister to me. I wish we did stuff like this more often, I didn't realise how good it felt to just hang around with a much loved friend, not doing much and just being yourself without having to impress anyone or conform to social norms. :P
Just a reminder from Georgia <3 nbsp="" td="">

Almost Home

Yesterday my dad and I drove back from the Lake District, we were both very tired for the entirety of the journey. We chatted for a while but we were both to exhausted to hold much of a conversation so I listened to my iPod whilst my dad listened to the radio.
Once home my dad unpacked but as I'm leaving today it would have been silly to unpack so I got out my pjs, toiletries bag, clean clothes etc. Before long we were hungry and so decided to go out for a meal, and ended up with a Chinese takeaway. After eating all the prawn crackers on the way home, and eating the food whilst watching a tv show about the conspiracies of the moon landings I went to my room and caught up on some of my favourite tv shows. I really missed New Girl, 90210 and Suburgatory. I love them so much! I went to bed quite late but slept in for ages this morning!
Once I had finally gotten out of bed my dad and I went to a few music shops which was great. Now I'm waiting for my train home, I had a wonderful time and I don't want to say good bye to my dad. Hopefully it won't be too long before I see him again.

Bye dad x

In the Lake District

On Monday my dad and I drove up to the Lake District and we are staying here a couple of days. Monday was unbelievably rainy after all the hot weather we've been having in the U.K., so a lot of places are currently flooded. Today we went to a motor museum and went on a boat cruise on Lake Windermere. It was okay... not exactly my cup of tea but hey ho. When we came back we mostly chilled out and jammed together. I miss playing music with my dad, it is really good fun.
